The Section 912 Leadership Committee has approved our criteria for awarding scholarships to University of Louisville Industrial Engineering students for 2006-07. The award(s) will be presented at the J.B. Speed Engineering School awards ceremony in the spring.
ASQ Section 912 will award a total of $500. This will be awarded to up to five (5) individual students for participation at our monthly Section meetings. The scholarship will be divided equally among one to five participants. The requirements are:
- Conduct a 20 minute presentation to our meeting attendees.
- Topic must be related to the quality field, statistical analysis, software techniques or other relevant topic of interest to ASQ members.
- Topic synopsis must be approved by Dr. Usher and communicated to the ASQ Program Chair, Amit Parulekar at ParulekarAU@usa.redcross.org by the first day of the month of the presentation.
- All meetings are currently scheduled at Masterson’s Restaurant near the U of L campus, unless otherwise announced. Available presentation dates are on the second Thursday evening of the month, December 2006 through May 2007, excluding March.
- We will accept one presentation per meeting on a first come, first preference basis; however, if needed, we may schedule two at a meeting. Presentations will be scheduled at 6:00 PM.
- Participating students will be provided a meal at the meeting at no charge.
